In the present times, the printers can make use of the image setting system for preparing the plates directly. The next step is to transfer the plate on to a cylinder in the right manner. Thereafter water, and then ink, is spread on the image plates. The image receives the ink while the rest of the area receives a thin layer of water, which ensures that the ink does not spill past the images.
Next, the image is inverted when it is transmitted to a rubber blanket which is stuck to another cylinder. The image is reversed to its right side by transferring the image to sheets which have been cut according to the need and are put on a different cylinder.
Printed sheets are stapled, glued, or assembled in any other manner as needed and the printing company sends them after giving some finishing touches.
